ROYAL ENFIELD IS ALL SET TO LAUNCH HIMALAYAN 650
Are you too waiting for 650 cc version of the most favourite off-roader of India, the Royal Enfield Himalayan?
Well then this news can be a really good news for you all.
Royal Enfield is possibly all set to launch HIMALAYAN 650 CC by 2021 and it is almost confirmed.
Though Himalayan 650 was expected to launch in 2020 but as the company had been busy in testing the upcoming BS6-compliant models of the Classics, Thunderbirds and the 650cc twins, it seems like the Himalayan 650 will take some more time to enter the adventure motorcycle segment.
However till now no test mule of the 650cc Himalayan has been spotted getting tested on the roads.
As Royal Enfield’s CEO Siddhartha Lal has already hinted for Himalayan 650, one fact that comes clear is that it will share the engine with the Interceptor 650 and the Continental GT 650.
The same engine on the Himalayan 650 is expected to generate a different set of output figures to suit the characteristics of an adventure motorcycle. The current Himalayan comes with a 411cc, single-cylinder engine producing 24.5HP at 6500 rpm and 32 Nm at 4250 rpm. The engine feels puny in front of the 648cc twin-cylinder motor but it is still quite responsive in comparison to the rest of the Royal Enfield engines.
The Himalayan 650 will be offered a lot of design changes to overcome the limitations of the 411 model while the pricing is expected to stay around INR 3 lakh (ex-showroom).
